India has expressed its happiness over Hassan Rouhani\'s election as Iran\'s next president. Indian foreign minister Salman Khurshid who was on a two day visit to Iraq termed Mr. Rohani\'s victory as a good signal and said it indicates much greater convergence and consensus amongst people and public opinion in Iran. He called it a welcome sign and an outcome of Iranian democracy.

In Bahrain, protesters have rallied after the leader of the country\'s main opposition group was summoned by police for questioning. The demonstrators marched in the capital Manama as well as the town of Adliyah and Muqabah. Regime forces used tear gas against protesters in Moqabeh. Protesters expressed solidarity with al-Wefaq leader Sheikh Ali Salman and pledged to continue their protests. Al-Wefaq has said the summoning is part of the regime\'s blackmail and revenge campaign against the peaceful opposition. Manama is under fire for a heavy-handed crackdown on dissent.

Is the House of Saud on shaky grounds? Well according to various sources, the infighting inside of the tightly controlled monarchy of Saudi Arabia is on the rise. And the Intelligence Chief Bandar bin Sultan is at the center of the tug of war. Reportedly he has interfered in overthrowing Egyptian president Mohammad Morsi, attempting to overthrow the Syrian government of President Bashar al Asad also he is allegedly involved in growing violence in Iraq and Lebanon. And now at home, he wants to remove Prince salman bin Abdul Aziz from being next in line to be king.

Corruption in Iran-UAE Gas Agreement. What is today known as Crescent case was an agreement signed in 2001 between National Iranian Oil Company, NIOC and United Arab Emirates oil and gas company Crescent to sell the company gas. The case is now in International Hague Arbitration Tribunal for corruption. According to the signed contract, Iran was obligated to export sour gas from joint Iran-UAE oil and gas field, Salman to UAE for twenty five years. Iranian officials say that the incentive to sign the contract was signed not national interest but corruption and bribe. According to Iranian Judiciary some of the officials involved in this case have already been convicted of taking bribe in Iran\'s criminal court.

Bahrain is the scene of yet another anti-government rally. The protest west of Manama was joined by the leader of the main opposition bloc Al-Wefaq. Sheikh Ali Salman attended the rally in the village of Shakhora to condemn the jailing of photographers and activists by the Al Khalifa regime. The protest comes as Manama continues its brutal crackdown against opposition leaders and activists calling for democratic change in the Persian Gulf Kingdom. The Al Khalifa regime has detained hundreds of opposition activists since the revolution started in 20-11. Scores of protesters have died in the crackdown and many others have been given lengthy jail sentences for attending anti-regime protests.

The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, has reportedly booked out three entire island resorts exclusively for himself. The 78-year-old prince is understood to have taken over the five-star paradise resorts for nearly a month. Reports say he is due to arrive in the Maldives with a floating hospital, a luxury yacht, and more than 100 bodyguards. The super luxury trip by the Saudi prince comes at a time when millions of Saudi citizens are estimated to be living in poverty. Some reports say up to 60 percent of the population in the oil-rich Arab country live below the poverty line.

Human right activists and people of conscious assembled outside US consulate on Sunday 3rd January 2016 to condemn and mourn Sheikh Baqir al-Nimr’s illegitimate execution by the Saudi regime. The rally began with Quran recitation followed by chants condemning the Saudi monarchy, their US master and Canadian government for exporting arms to the Saudi government. The spoken word by the youths highlighted the brave and courageous, non-violent stand of Sheikh Nimr against corruption of Saudi rulers and human rights violation. The speech by the religious scholar questioned the false accusation of terrorism against Sheikh Nimr, despite the fact that Sheikh Nimr always supported the roar of the words against authorities rather than weapons.
