It\'s been more than three weeks since vital supply route for the US led forces stationed in neighboring Afghanistan remains blocked in the North West of Pakistan. The supply route at Torkham border has been blocked by activists of religious and political parties to protest against the US assassination drone strikes in the tribal areas.
However, the move by the provincial government, which is run by Tehreek-e-Insaf or Justice Party, has put the central government in difficult position. That is why these top Pakistani civil and military authorities gathered in Islamabad to find a way out of the ongoing standoff. Despite efforts by the central government, the provincial administration has refused to allow trucks carrying supplies for the US forces in Afghanistan pass through the Torkham border.Pakistan is considered important for the US to ensure its forces\' smooth pull out of Afghanistan. The US has recently threatened to suspend billions of dollars in aid to Pakistan if supply routes are not reopened. In the face off continuing US drone attacks, Pakistan\'s civil and military leadership has promised to safeguard the country\'s national interests. However, they have not been able to come up with a clear strategy to pacify the growing public anger against the CIA\'s illegal and deadly drone campaign.

Israeli warplanes have bombarded the Gaza Strip, killing at least two Palestinian and wounding several others.
Eyewitnesses say Israeli warplanes targeted the southern city of Khan Yunis. Two more strikes were reported in the east of the Gaza city and another in the center of the impoverished enclave. The attacks come shortly after a Palestinian sniper shot dead an Israeli along a border fence in the north of the coastal enclave. The incident seemed to be in retaliation for the recent killing of Palestinians in Gaza by Israeli forces. The Israeli military shot and wounded a Palestinian in northern Gaza on Monday. Another Palestinian was wounded by Israeli troops on Friday in southern Gaza, a day after a young Palestinian was killed and four others injured by Israeli fire.

A former Israeli official says Tel Aviv has killed most of the people behind the deadly attacks on its embassy and a Jewish center in Argentina in the nineties.
Itz-hak Aviran, who was the Israeli envoy in Argentina before retiring in 2000, made the remarks in an interview with Argentine media. He said Israel\\\'s secret service agents were responsible for the killings. Argentinian courts blamed Iran for the AMIA bombing in which 85 people died in Buenos Aires. Tehran, however, has strongly rejected such accusations. Iran and Argentina signed a memorandum of understanding last year to jointly probe the bombing in the Argentinian capital.

An Egyptian court has sentenced 26 people to death for plotting attacks on ships in the Suez Canal.
The men, who were tried in their absence, were charged while in custody. The court accuses the defendents of founding and leading a terrorist cell, which wanted to disrupt the major shipping route. It also referred the verdict to the Grand Mufti of Cairo, who now has to validate the sentences. The recent spate of violence has rocked Egypt, after former president Mohamed Morsi was ousted by the military in July, and placed under arrest. The latest ruling comes as another court in the country sentenced over 2-hundred Morsi supporters to prison over a variety of charges on Tuesday.
