Latest market data show India has drastically increased oil imports from Iran-- in a clear proof of Iran\'s success in defying sanctions that have targeted its oil trade.
Figures show India imported about 200-thousand barrels per day of Iranian oil in September. This is roughly twice the figure for August. Earlier, similar market data showed that Iran had succeeded in becoming the top oil exporter to China in September after a series of slowdowns over the past months. Iran\'s Petroleum Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh had earlier said that serious plans were on agenda to boost the country\'s oil exports by four times. That would be in the face of illegal sanctions by the U-S and its allies that primarily target Iran\'s oil trade.

In a clear signal showing Pentagon\\\'s determination to maintain its military presence in the Persian Gulf, the US Navy is expanding its Fifth Fleet base in Bahrain.
Under the 580 million dollar expansion project, the Naval Support Activity Bahrain which is home to the US Fifth Fleet is expanding to an adjacent 77-acre piece of land along the waterfront. Under the plan, the US Navy base will nearly double in size. Since 2008, the base personnel has more than doubled from 3000 to 7000. The US Navy initially took over the base from the British Royal Navy in 1971 when it covered just 10 acres of land.

Iran says it will hand international bodies clear and convincing evidence on the role of the supporters of Takfiri groups in the crimes committed in Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Syria and elsewhere.
Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif posted the comment on his Facebook page, in reaction to the assassination of Iranian diplomat Abolqasem Assadi in the Yemeni capital of Sana\'a. Zarif said that a small group is backing such dangerous moves and fueling clashes in the region and beyond. The top diplomat added that Iran is ready for an international campaign against extremism and sectarianism. Zarif said he delivered that message to top officials in Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Syria and Russia during his recent tour of the region.
