Stand4Hussain.org celebratd the birthday of Imam Hussain (pbuh) in yet another innovative fashion by handing out free food and painting the faces of kids in a market place in Oslo.
Comments by one of the volunteers:
The program went very well and better than expected alhamdullilah :)
There were almost exclusively positive people who talked to us, and we got a great deal of positive feedback. Not the least the neighbors (the stands), who were impressed with the job and were surprised that we handed out free food and that we were told that we must take good care of our neighbours, for it is part of Islam's principles and values.
The questions we received during the stand were of different kinds such as "you are the good Muslims then?" due to the free distribution of food and we were quite happy throughout.
Someone else asked if we followed Saudi Arabia's religion or operated the same way as IslamNet (Salafist org. in Norway).
The majority also asked about why we celebrated the birthday of exactly this personality. There were also some others who had not known that the grandchildren of prophet Muhammad (saaw) played a big role in Islam and that they existed in Islam at all.
Also there was a person who recognised Imam Hussain (as) through Mahatma Gandhi .... SubhanAllah
A wonderful experience it was;)

[23 June 2012] Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza - English
Israeli warplanes carried out a series of air raids in Gaza, targeting many positions across the blockaded coastal territory. People here are angry over what they say the silence of the international community for not taking any action to put pressure on Israel to end its military attacks. Press TV met Abu Shaban family who escaped unharmed after their house was targeted.
Israel has stepped up its assaults on Gaza over the recent days. The attacks have claimed over a dozen lives in Gaza since Monday. A number of Gazans, including at least one child, have been killed and many others injured in the latest Israeli attack.International activists say the world has to condemn Israel's military attacks on innocent Palestinians in Gaza and take decisive measures to end the suffering of Gaza's 1.7 million.Israel frequently carries out air raids and conducts ground incursions in Gaza. The blockaded coastal enclave has been cut of from the outside world as Israel controls Gaza's border crossings, airspace and territorial waters, turning the impoverished territory into the world's largest open air prison.

[28 June 2012] Opposition activists in Bahrain want Bahrain king son arrested - Comment (Part 1) - English
Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa is the head of Bahrain's Olympic committee and is due to lead the country's delegation during the Olympics Games in London. But according to Bahraini opposition members, he's also a sadistic torturer who's been personally involved in crushing anti-regime demonstrations by force. They also say he has cheer-led the persecution of Bahraini athletes opposed to the Al Khalifa dictatorship.
Nasser bin Hamad is the King of Bahrain's 25 year old son. Activists say he can be seen here preparing to participate in quelling anti-regime demonstrations by force. According to the Bahraini opposition, anti-regime athletes have been abducted, taken to torture chambers and subjected to horrific treatment. And Nasser's voice can be heard here on Bahraini state TV, condemning calls for regime change in the country. With the Olympic Games around one month away the British government has banned the Syrian Olympic Committee chief from entering the country because of alleged links to repression in his country.
But London hasn't taken the same steps against its Persian Gulf ally Bahrain. Saeed Shehabi, meanwhile, is calling for Nasser bin Hamad to be arrested for crimes against humanity if he sets foot on British soil. On the other hand, in a letter to the Guardian newspaper, Bahrain has denied the allegations against Nasser bin Hamad al Khalifa. Britain and Bahrain have close military, economic and political ties and this hasn't changed despite the al Khalifa crackdown on the opposition. But if Nasser bin Hamad al Khalifa is allowed to come to the Olympic Games it will shine a brighter spotlight on the UK's close ties with the Persian Gulf dictatorship.

[28 June 2012] Should Muslims show concern for occupation of Afghanistan during Olympics - Islam And Life - English
Contrary to its official mottos, modern Olympic Games have been very much politicized. Governments used it as a propaganda tool for their political ideologies, most notably nationalism.
It has been used to propagate Euro centrism, fascism, communism, racial superiority and of course as a marketing and advertising instrument.
Anti-racist and human right activists have used it as platform for their ideas. In 1980, to protest Soviet Union's invasion of Afghanistan, more than 60 countries followed the United States to boycott the Moscow Olympic Games.
Many Muslim countries joined the boycott, among them Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Pakistan.
In a similar way, the host nation of the 2012 London Olympic Games has invaded at least two Muslim countries. It still has military presence in one of the, Afghanistan.
This week's Islam and Life asks: Should the world be worried about the emerging "total war ideology" against Islam

[05 July 2012] West biased towards Syria conflict - English
Switzerland has decided to suspend arms shipments to the United Arab Emirates following a report that Swiss-made hand grenades are being used by armed gangs in Syria. The measure was taken on Wednesday after the Sonntagszeitung newspaper published a photograph taken of one such device in possession of anti-Damascus forces in the town of Marea, north of Aleppo, at the end of June.
Preliminary inquiries into the photo showed the grenade in question was made by the Bern-based arms manufacturer RUAG, and was part of a shipment made by the company to the UAE in 2003. In an interview with Press TV, Charles Shoebridge, a security analyst in London, shares his opinions regarding the issue.

[10 July 2012] NATO after regime change in Syria Webster Griffin Tarpley - English
NATO is not after a peaceful solution for the Syrian crisis but wants there to be "continuing violence and civil war" ultimately leading to an armed attack followed by "regime change," says an analyst.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has warned Russia and China over their support for Syria, saying they "will pay a price" for their actions.
During a so-called "Friends of the Syrian People" meeting in Paris on Friday, Clinton launched a scathing attack on Moscow and Beijing and called for imposing pressure against both nations to drop their support for Damascus.
"I do not believe that Russia and China are paying any price at all - nothing at all - for standing up on behalf of the [Syrian President Bashar] Assad regime."
"The only way that will change is if every nation represented here directly and urgently makes it clear that Russia and China will pay a price," Clinton warned.
Russia and China boycotted the latest "Friends of the Syrian People" meeting as one-sided.
Press TV has talked with author and historian, Dr. Webster Griffin Tarpley to further discuss the issue.

[17 July 2012] Paying Taliban to lay down arms is not effective - English
US-led NATO says the strategy of buying the loyalty of Taliban members in Afghanistan has proved to be a failure as only around 5,000 militants have responded to the strategy by giving up their weapons.
The US-led Western military alliance said that the plan has had very little effect across Afghanistan so far.
The program, which started in October 2010, offers a stipend of USD 360 over three months to each Taliban militant who lays down arms and joins the program.
The US-led invasion of Afghanistan was launched in 2001. The offensive removed the Taliban from power, but insecurity continues to rise across Afghanistan despite the presence of tens of thousands of US-led troops there.
The US-led war in Afghanistan, with civilian and military casualties at record high, has become one of the longest wars in US history.
Press TV has conducted an interview with Carl Osgood, Executive Intelligence Review, from Washington, to further discuss the issue.

Sweet and crunchy bite sized vermicelli bars with coconut and pistachios!
Recipe:
1 stick unsalted butter
2 pkts of vermicelli 7.5 oz each total of 15 oz
1 14 oz can plus 2 tbsp of condensed sweet milk
1 1/2 cup of dedicated coconut (reserve 1/2 cup for garnishing)
1/3 cup of chopped pistachios (reserve some for garnishing)
Method:
In saucepan add the one stick of butter and melt the butter making sure you don't burn the butter, once the butter is melted add the vermicelli and roast it until golden brown than go ahead and add the coconut and the nuts followed by the condensed milk once all of the ingredients are completely combined decide if you want to make the pieces or the balls I decided to do both so in a 5 by 5 pan I got 16 pieces and from the other half I got about 12 balls. Roll the balls in the coconut and for the bars you can sprinkle the reserved pistachios and coconut!!!

An unbelievable leaked video of an auction for a suicide bomber against Syria! This takes place in a hotel conference room in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The atmosphere is festive, and the audience has children in it. But the merchandise auctioned is human flesh and blood!
The video shows the father, Abu-Salah, attending the auction and offering his son
Khaled as a sacrifice This is his SECOND son to be sold as a suicide bomber. The father receives 1.5 million Riyals ($400,000) as
future compensation for his son's demise in Syria. At one point in the video, the father is elated at the high bids.
What kind of father sells his son? What kind of person pays to have a stranger blow himself up? These are questions that Saudi Arabia, Gulf Arab states, Obama, Hillary Clinton and Europeans must answer because of their support of these terrorists in Syria. NOTE- Not all saudies are killers!
Many innocents are living un happy there.

[2] Mystery of Egypt Sinai border attacks with George Galloway - 10 Aug 2012 - English
n Sunday, unknown gunmen opened fire on the Egyptian border security guards at a checkpoint near the Karm Abu Salem border crossing, killing at least 16 security personnel and injuring several others. Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi called an emergency meeting with the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces following the incident on Sunday, the Egyptian state media reported. "President Morsi says that this cowardly attack will not go without a response... and that those who committed this crime will pay dearly," said a statement issued late on Sunday by the Egyptian president's office.
After killing the border guards at a checkpoint near the Karm Abu Salem border crossing, the militants, who were wearing traditional Bedouin clothing, seized two armored vehicles and quickly drove off the scene. Witnesses said the militants also fired rocket-propelled grenades at the Egyptian army checkpoint. Meanwhile, an official of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas declared that, "The border between Egypt and Gaza is protected. We closed the tunnels to prevent anyone from escaping (into Gaza) and we have put our forces on alert."
In Israel, a spokesman for the armed forces said that one of the vehicles exploded while trying to cross the Rafah border. The other vehicle was reportedly hit by an Israeli airstrike. Egypt has been trying to secure its borders following last year's revolution, which resulted in the ouster of Hosni Mubarak.
