[15 Jan 2014] Egypt 2nd day of referendum marred by violence - English
Egyptians voted on Wednesday for the second and final day of the referendum on the country\'s new constitution. The first day of the vote was marred by deadly violence that left eleven dead after anti-coup protesters clashed with police forces in a number of governorates. Supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood Movement headed to the Ithadiya presidential palace to voice their refusal of the voting process that they label as illegitimate coming after the military overthrow of elected president Mohamed Morsi from power. The protests turned violent after clashes erupted at a train station and near the presidential palace in Cairo before spreading to other areas.
