Eid mubarak to all the believers! But wait… what exactly are we celebrating? Why are we celebrating the end of something as great as the Month of Ramadhan? Hmm…

Martyrs are the frontline in the defense of Islam.
But who are the support structure for these martyrs who put all they have for the sake of the defense of Islam?
What examples do we learn about martyrs and their support structure from the 8 year Sacred Defense?
What are some of the things that are worth being mentioned in these regards?
And finally, what role did women play in all this?
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei, speaks about the \"Men and Women at The Service of Martyrs\".
Either you\'re on the frontlines or you\'re a support structure; there\'s no other way about it.

Yemen Update 1 | Barefooted, But Deadly | Keepin' It Real | English

We bring y\\\'all an incredibly important \\\"Yemen Update 1\\\" because since the release of this original uncut episode on Yemen, practically one whole year has passed, and an update was all too necessary.
But please keep in mind that with all the different current events going on in the world, we all really need a funny, relaxed, refreshing, and yet eye-opening commentary on it all.
So Sayyid Shahryar is here to humbly shed a little insight into all that\\\'s going on around the world; past, present, and perhaps even future.
In this episode, we start with a \\\"Yemen Update 1\\\" and then we\\\'re \\\"Keepin\\\' It Real\\\" by talking about the people of Yemen and how they are \\\"Barefooted, But Deadly\\\".
With a bleeding heart we say that the war on Yemen has been raging on for 8 long years.
A Saudi-led coalition, supported by and with a green light from western powers, has embarked upon the total destruction of the already impoverished nation of Yemen.
But what is the ancient history of Yemen?
And was Yemen ever a British colony?
Who is Mr. Double-A Saleh?
How long was the presidency of the President of Yemen, Ali Abdullah Saleh?
(Note to viewer who is listening: Ali Abdullah Saleh was President of the Yemen Arab Republic from 1978 to 1990 and then the President of Yemen from 1990 to 2012)
And based upon the above \\\'note\\\', why is it important to pay attention in math class?
What were some of the notorious things that Mr. Double-A Saleh was doing while in power in the nation of Yemen?
What is the estimated worth of Mr. Double-A Saleh?
What were some of the God-given rights that the common masses of Yemen were demanding from the government of Mr. Double-A Saleh?
How did the Arrogant Powers react to the aforementioned demands of the Yemeni people?
And why in the world are the brave and courageous people of Yemen \\\"Barefooted, But Deadly\\\"?
Hey, we\\\'re just \\\"Keepin\\\' It Real\\\".

So have you ever thought, if you want love, well, you might just make some enemies?
Well, we\'re not talking about just an ole\' love. We\'re talking about the love for Allah and the love of Allah.
So what is one of the things that we would all want to attain in our short lives, in this temporary world?
What will happen to one if they end up attaining that love which all of creation is striving for?
And what does the divinely appointed Imam, Imam Muhammad ibn Ali al-Taqi al-Jawad (A) say about all this?
Well, Sayyid Shahryar answers in this One Minute Wisdom using the wise and immaculate words of Imam Muhammad ibn Ali al-Taqi al-Jawad (A).
So even though you will most probably make enemies, it\'s still worth it, if you want love.

There is a love for the beloved and likewise, due to the love of the beloved, there is a love for the attributes of the beloved.
And on the other hand, it can be that a love for the attributes of the beloved leads to the love of the beloved.
Have you ever thought about the beautiful names and the beautiful attributes of Allah?
And have you ever thought about the many times that we were entrapped in sin, drowning in the seduction of the carnal self, and indulged in the disobedience of Allah, the Creator, the Supreme?
Finally, what is a specific attribute about Allah, the Mighty, the Exalted, which leads us to realize that isn\\\\\\\'t such a God worth loving with all our hearts and souls?
The late Ayatollah Misbah-Yazdi (R) provides us with a short, but profound lesson on the basics of loving Allah.

Dealing in cash only is the traditional method used by tax dodgers to avoid paying the state a portion of their incomes. Now, though the digital era has taken centre stage and money can be shifted electronically right around the globe using any number of accounts. The European Commission says forcing institutions to become more transparent is the key to curtailing the problem. The Commission says it is vital that governments around the world co-operate with the EU on this issue. We asked ordinary EU citizens about their views on these latest measures which are designed to curtail illegal tax evasion within the union estimated to be worth one trillion euro annually.

A hawkish Israeli minister insults US Secretary of State John Kerry, calling his ideas on the so-called peace plan unworthy and obsessive. Moshe Yaalon later issued a statement in which he apologized to Kerry, saying that he had no intention to cause any offense to the United States\\\' top diplomat. The incident, which caused an uproar in Washington, serves as another reminder of the tension underlying U-S-Israel relations. This also has a historical angle. Now we\\\'ll take a closer look at the issue.

Washington has reacted to comments by an israeli minister who insulted the US secretary of state a little earlier.
This, after the Israeli minister of military affairs said that John Kerry\'s plan for the so-called peace talks between Tel Aviv and the Palestinians Authority was not worth the paper it was written on. Now the US State Department says that Moshe Yaalon\'s comments are offensive and inappropriate. According to Israeli media reports, Yaalon has also, during private conversations, implied that Kerry is a nuisance, by saying that he should take his Nobel prize and leave us alone. The remarks have drawn angry reactions from Israeli officials and the opposition, who say such tongue-lashing comments could destroy Tel-Aviv\'s relations with Washington. Israel\'s Environmental Protection minister has gone beyond that by calling on the prime minister to fire Yaalon and ministers who are in line with him. Kerry\'s proposal for the so-called peace process include a security plan for the Jordan Valley in the West Bank. Under the plan, Israeli forces must withdraw from the Valley - - a proposal Tel Aviv is opposed to.

Syria\'s economy has worsened dramatically since the ongoing unrest erupted more than two years ago, bringing hardships to Syrians day by day. The difficulty is felt particularly during the fasting month of Ramadan. The situation is also blamed on economic sanctions by the Arab League as well as some regional and Western countries. Prices of basic food materials have doubled and sometimes even tripled. Each Dollar now makes over 250 Syrian pounds, while it was worth 50 before the unrest broke out. Thus, all prices have soared, especially for the imported goods. The war on Syria is not only a military or political one. The armed conflict has deteriorated the economic situation as well, putting even greater pressure on the daily lives of the Syrians; those who suffer the most because of the ongoing crisis.

The annual European Union Budget is worth hundreds of billions of euro and now those in charge of administering it are admitting that huge amounts of taxpayers\' cash are being siphoned off by fraudsters. Member states are failing to adequately deal with the fraud problem so the EU Commission says it is setting up a European Public Prosecutor\'s Office which apparently will take a zero tolerance approach. The Commission estimates that €500m is lost each year through crimes against the EU Budget. At present only 42% of suspected cases are prosecuted. The Commission says the new prosecutor\'s office will pursue approximately 2,500 new cases each year. The office will commence work on the 1st of January 2015.

Israel approves plans to build more than two thousand new settler units in Jerusalem al-Quds and the occupied West Bank. As Israeli soldiers hand out more eviction orders to Palestinian families, we\'re asking is Tel Aviv under enough international pressure to stop its settlement activities that the UN has called illegal? [23 June 2012] Iranian president in Venezuela to boost bilateral ties - English
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez warmly greeted his close ally Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the presidential palace in Caracas. The Iranian leader arrived in Venezuela's capital from stops in Brazil, where he attended the United Nations Rio+20 conference in Rio de Janeiro, and Bolivia.Chavez and Ahmadinejad vowed to keep building closer ties. The Venezuelan president has expressed solidarity with Iran on its nuclear energy program which Iran insists it's for peaceful purposes.
Caracas and Tehran have signed an estimated five billion dollars worth of trade deals and accords since 2001 including construction projects, car factories and most recently an agreement for Caracas to manufacture unmanned aerial aircrafts better known as drones. The United States has looked at these accords with disapproval and last year put sanctions on Venezuela's state oil company for making deals with Iran's energy sector.Chavez criticized the sanctions against Iran and pledged to continue being Tehran's key ally in Latin America. This is President Ahmadinejad second visit to Venezuela this year. According to Hugo Chavez there have been more than 300 bilateral accords signed by both countries.

Under the Geneva deal between Iran and five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany, the western countries have agreed to ease sanctions on Iran in response to Tehran\'s confidence-building move to continue its nuclear energy program at a lower level. But, there are different accounts of the exact timing of the partial sanctions removal.
The U-S says Iran will see up to seven-billion-dollars worth of its frozen assets un-blocked. Out of this amount, Washington is expected to un-freeze some four-point-two billion dollars in oil revenue frozen in foreign banks. But, some remaining 40 billion dollars of Iran\'s oil export money will remain frozen. This is the amount Iran obtained through selling its oil under U-S and E-U sanctions imposed in early 20-12. Iran could also access another four-hundred-million dollars for educational purposes, such as the transfer of university tuition fees. France\'s Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius says this could happen in December. But British Foreign Secretary William Hague, as well as the spokesman for E-U\'s foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, say they expect the sanctions easing to be completed in January.

What is behind the surprise Saudi decision to provide 3 billion dollars worth of military aid to the Lebanese army?
The announcement of this decision was recently made by Lebanese president Michel Suleiman, after Saudi King Abdullah and French president Francois Hollande apparently agreed on the issue during their summit in Riyadh. The deal says Paris is to play the role of the military supplier, while Riyadh will take care of the financing. No one has so far mentioned that the military aid could be used to deter Israel. Tel Aviv has launched wars on Lebanon ever since its existence but no such military aid has ever been granted to Lebanon. Moreover Israeli officials have not made any objections to this announcement. Hence the logical, widespread conclusion is that this step targets Hezbollah. In a recent visit by Suleiman to Riyadh, the Saudi Monarch reportedly called for the Lebanese army to stop Hezbollah from joining the fight in Syria. Many experts believe that this is a Saudi reaction to the role Hezbollah has played in thwarting Riyadh\\\'s agenda of toppling Syrian president Bashar Assad. Saudi Arabia\\\'s Lebanese allies in the March 14 movement appeared to confirm this view, with members of the movement describing this declaration as a blow to Hezbollah. Meanwhile, the designated supplier of the military aid, France, is believed to be the main force behind the recent E-U decision to blacklist the military wing of Hezbollah. Saudi Arabia is eager to escalate its campaign against Hezbollah, perhaps showing Washington that it can seek support elsewhere. France meanwhile welcomes the 3 billion dollar package, as it\\\'s trying to find ways to boost its austerity-hit economy. Now the main question is whether the deal could possibly change the Lebanese\\\'s anti-Israeli doctrine into an anti-Hezbollah stance?

Hence the developments relating to Karbala\\\\\\\' are quite clear and all of them are throughout a matter of great honor and pride. But we have disfigured this shining historic event to such an extent and have committed such a monstrous treachery towards Imam Husayn (\\\\\\\'a) that if he were to come and see, he will say, \\\\\\\'You have changed the entire face of the event. I am not the Imam Husayn that you have sketched out in your own imagination. The Qasim ibn Hasan that you have painted in your fancy is not my nephew. The \\\\\\\'Ali Akbar that you have faked in your imagination is not my aware and intelligent son. The companions that you have carved out are not my companions.\\\\\\\"
We have fabricated a Qasim whose only desire is to become a bridegroom and whose uncle\\\\\\\'s wish, too, is to have him wedded. Contrast this one with the historical Qasim. Reliable histories report that on the night of \\\\\\\'Ashura\\\\\\\' the Imam (\\\\\\\'a) gathered his companions in a tent whose location, as described by the phrase \\\\\\\'inda qurbil-ma\\\\\\\', was the place where water used to be kept, or near it. There he delivered that very well-known sermon of the night preceding \\\\\\\'Ashura\\\\\\\'. I do not want to mention its details here, but, to put it briefly, in this sermon the Imam told them that every one of them was free to depart and leave him to confront the enemy alone. The Imam did not want anybody to stay just for considerations of courtesy or to remain out of compulsion, or even to think that they were obliged to do so by virtue of the allegiance (bay\\\\\\\'ah) they had given him. Hence he tells them, \\\\\\\"You are all free, my companions, members of my family, my sons, and my nephews-everyone-to leave without being liable to anything. They [i.e. the enemy\\\\\\\'s forces] have nothing against anyone except me. The night is dark. Take advantage of the darkness of the night and depart. They will definitely not stop you.\\\\\\\" At first, he expresses his appreciation for them and tell them, I am most pleased with you. I do not know of any companions better than mine, and no better relatives than the members of my family.\\\\\\\"
But all of them tell him, in unison, that such a thing was impossible. What answer will they give to the Prophet on the Day of Resurrection? What will happen to loyalty, to humanity, to love and attachment? Their ardent responses and their words said on that occasion melt a heart of stone and are most moving. One of them says, \\\\\\\"Is one life worth enough to be sacrificed for someone like you? I wish that I were brought to life seventy times to die seventy time for your sake.\\\\\\\" Another says, \\\\\\\"I would lay down a thousand lives for your sake if I had them.\\\\\\\" Another says, \\\\\\\"If I were to sacrifice my life for you and my body were burnt to ashes and the ashes were cast to wind, and were this done a hundred times, I would still love to die for your sake.\\\\\\\" The first to speak was his brother Abu al-Fadl, and then the Imam changed the subject and told them about the events of the next day, informing them that they all would be killed. All of them receive it as a great good news.

It started last month with one encampment outside Saint Paul's Cathedral. Next came the expansion to Finsbury Square, a smaller but similarly active protest camp.
Now, Occupy London have unveiled their latest base, and this time they mean business.
At four storeys high and taking up almost half a street, this is the third of the Occupy London movement's locations, coming complete with a fully functional conference room and a five hundred seat auditorium. More significantly, this building is owned by the Swiss bank UBS, who themselves are no strangers to controversy.
In two thousand and seven, they were accused of heavily profiting from a controversial mortgage scheme in which thousands of British pensioners lost a total of around one billion pounds. They bought the troubled mortgages from another bank. At the time they said that it was an “entirely usual” transaction.
It was bailed out by the Swiss government just one year later. This building is one of its assets, and it's worth over fifty four million pounds.
Occupy London want to hold educational workshops and community events here. They've named their new space “The bank of ideas”, this concept was explained to us by one occupier.
After weeks of being told that their protest was going nowhere, those within the Occupy movement are seeing this as proof that they aren't giving up any time soon. They plan on hosting a conference of worldwide occupy movements inside.
Officially the building is now a 'legal squat', meaning that police are powerless to remove the activists from the building without first consulting the courts.
The City of London has already started legal action against the Saint Pauls cathedral protest camp. Although this is a private building and in a different part of London, its owners are likely to start taking steps to launch their own case against the protesters.
UBS bank today said that they were taking “appropriate action”. In the meantime, Occupy London is likely to squeeze as many events as it can into their limited occupancy time to take full advantage of their new found space.

In July 2006, the Arab-Israeli struggle was taken to a new level with a 33-day Israeli attack on Lebanon.
The war caused Lebanon widespread destruction and damaged its infrastructure severely. And even with the billions of dollars worth of damage, what was worse than that was the fact that thousands of Lebanese civilians were killed.
