[06 June 2012] 'US commits gross HR abuses in Bahrain' - English
Bahrain's revolution still goes on with the Saudi-backed forces' heavy-handed crackdown on anti-government protesters in several villages.
In the village of Jad Ali near the capital, tear-gas was used against young protesters out shouting "Down with Hamad" - the ruling monarch. Similar clashes took place in the northeastern village of Sitra.
Bahrain has been rocked by anti-government protests for more than a year now. Manama, with the direct backing of Saudi Arabia, has cracked down on the protests with all possible means.
Press TV has conducted an interview with Kamel Wazne, a political analyst from the Lebanese capital, Beirut, to further shed light on the issue.

[23 June 2012] Calm returns to Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon - English
A fragile calm has returned to Lebanon's Palestinian refugee camps after last week's deadly violence between the Lebanese Army and the residents of "Nahr Al-Bared" and "Ain Al-Helwe" Palestinian refugee camps. A number of people were killed and may others wounded in the violence. Days after the incident, Palestinian factions' leaders have confirmed that some infiltrators incited the unrest, aiming to drive a wedge between the Lebanese Army and the residents of the camps.
The Palestinian leadership was prompted to send its delegate, "Azzam Al-Ahmad", to Beirut on Thursday for this matter. The delegate, who met with Lebanese House-speaker, "Nabih Berri" and Army Commander, "Jean Qahwaji", said the unrest in the camps goes in line with a scheme meant to dismantle the entire Arab region.

[14 July 2012] Suu Kyi silent on Muslims cleansing in Myanmar - English
A program against a population of Muslims called the Rohingyas began in June, which has been called an ethnic cleansing of the Muslim population. Why hasn't this received more international coverage? Certainly, Myanmar has become an example of democracy as deemed recently by the United States, the European Union and Canada.
In this news analysis examines why the Rohingya Muslims, as they are called, are facing this fate, as Myanmar's President Thein Sein says Rohingya Muslims must be expelled from the country and sent to refugee camps run by the United Nations, who have in turn, refused them.

[23 July 2012] Pakistanis start fasting in Ramadan with full religious fervor - English
Mah-e-Siyam or Ramadan, the ninth month of Islamic lunar calendar in which Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, has started in Pakistan with full religious fervor.
Across Pakistan the decorated mosques are hosting worshipers that come to refine their spiritual-body in Ramadan, the month of food-for-soul.
Giving and sharing and not forgetting those who can't bring even a single meal to the table is perhaps the first lesson Ramdan teaches us that is why charity has become an inseparable part of this month.

[24 July 2012] US Israel seek to launch more wars in Mideast - English
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Tel Aviv will "have to act" to prevent a possible transfer of chemical weapons from Syria to Lebanon.
In an interview on "Fox News Sunday," Netanyahu said the need for an intervention may arise in case of the collapse of the Syrian government.
"So I think that this is something we'll have to act to stop if the need arises. And the need might arise if there's a regime collapse," the Israeli premier said.
He made the comments a few days after Israeli Minister of Military Affairs Ehud Barak made similar remarks.
Barak said that "the moment (Syrian President Bashar al-Assad) starts to fall we will conduct intelligence monitoring and will liaise with other agencies."
"Israel cannot accept a situation where advanced weapons systems are transferred from Syria to Lebanon," he said.
This is while Israel has intensified its military buildup in the occupied Golan Heights near the Syrian border.
Press TV has conducted an interview with Dr. Randy Short, with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, from Washington, to further discuss the issue.

[03 Aug 2012] Egypt new cabinet sworn in - English
Egypt's new prime minister and his cabinet were sworn in on Thursday, the first government since the election of Mohammed Morsi as the country's first freely elected president. Prime Minister Hesham Qandil asked Egyptians to rally behind his new government, as he promised it would represent all the people and will work on achieving the demands of the people of Egypt. The new cabinet retains in his post Hosni Mubarak's defense minister of 20 years, Field Marshall Hussein Tantawi, a reflection of how the military which Tantawi heads, still holds overwhelming powers in the country.

[2] George Galloway Muslim Massacre Continues in Myanmar - 03 Aug 2012 - English
According to a group of UK-based NGOs, from June 10 to 28, 650 Rohingya Muslims were killed, 1,200 went missing, and more than 80,000 others were displaced as a result of rioting, arson, rape, and a cycle of revenge attacks in the western state. Over the past two years, waves of ethnic Muslims have attempted to flee by boats in the face of systematic oppression by the Myanmar government. The government of Myanmar refuses to recognize the Rohingyas, who it claims are not native and classifies them as illegal migrants, although they have lived in Myanmar for generations.
