In a world where Islam is portrayed as an intolerant and strict religion, the diplomacy of the messenger of Allah with those of other faiths has been buried with time.
Though He and his people were continuously persecuted, Prophet Muhammad treated other minorities with equality, tolerance and respect.
In fact, He had invited the Jewish community and others to join the Muslims in a covenant promising them exemption from insults, equal rights to Muslims, security and freedom to practice their own religion.
This tolerance and respect was instructed upon him in many verses in the Holy Quran.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"And if they [that is, your parents] insist on you to associate (an idol) with Me... then do not obey them; however, live with them in this world kindly...\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" (Surah al-Luqman, 31:15) According to Islam, Jews and Christians are described as Ahlulbitab (People of Scriptures) and thus must be respected.
Yet many modern day Muslims refuse to enter into civilized friendships or integrate more openly with them.
This week\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s Islam and Life asks: What lessons can be derived from Prophet Muhammad\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s diplomacy?

Parliament has returned from its summer recess and British politics is back on the agenda. The ability to influence another individual is a much sought-after skill. But the ability to influence an entire nation\'s politics can only be imagined.
Maybe we Muslims set our aims too high. Even small changes can greatly benefit the lives of Muslims living in the West.
But how can we Islamically engage in western politics when it takes away people\'s rights, takes their money and harms people in other countries? How can we influence non-Islamic governments?
Well, maybe we can learn from Prophet Yusuf (PBUH) and his influence in Egyptian politics. After all, we Muslims are supposed to imitate the examples in the Qur\'an. Allah in the Qur\'an, when beginning the story of Prophet Yusuf (PBUH) in Surah Yusuf, says: \"We relate to you the best of stories...\"

The world\'s attention is on Syria; a country whose sovereignty is being attacked by western powers and Arab states.
The country is an important one for Muslims worldwide, but not just because of its location amongst other Muslim-majority countries, but because of its religious and political importance throughout history.
It may also be one of a few Muslim-majority countries left that has not been engulfed by a Saudi-led Takfiri culture.
Should Muslims idly wait for a handful of leaders to continue harming Syria\'s sovereignty or should Muslims actively try to protect it.
This week\'s Islam & Life asks: Why should Muslims in Europe be concerned about protecting Syria\'s sovereignty?

It has been over five weeks since Gaza\\\'s power plant stopped working.
This has seriously affected all aspects of life in the tiny and impoverished coastal strip in many ways including water supply, sewage treatment and medical care.
Amjad Shawa the director of Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations Network (PNGO) made an urgent appeal to the international community to help alleviate the suffering in the blockaded coastal territory.

Marriage is one of the oldest practices known to mankind. It has been practiced by prophets since Adam and has been taught to the rest of mankind as a Godly tradition.
Islam considers that the best of people are those who get married, while the worst are those who avoid marriage and pass their lives by remaining single.
Secular societies have gradually eroded the importance of marriage and this has been the subject of much controversy in recent times.
This week\'s Islam & Life asks: How can Muslims defend the institution of marriage in secular societies?

The video is to demotivate any propaganda that Sunni Muslims have a miserable terrible life in Iran due to Government... rather all sects have equal rights to worship and celebrate or perform their religious rituals. The need of the time is to aware the Muslim Ummah against the takfiri group activities of hate, killing and terrorism. Muslims should rather unite against their common enemy.
