Supreme Leader Stresses Iran\\\'s Support for \\\"Undivided Palestine\\\"
TEHRAN (FNA)- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed ineffectiveness of the Zionist regime and the West\\\'s plots against Palestine, and reiterated Tehran\\\'s support for an undivided Palestine.
\\\"They (enemies) wished to wipe Palestine off the world map, while they were mistaken. Palestine will remain and will not be eliminated,\\\" Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing a large crowd of Iranian people at the mausoleum of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, South of Tehran.
\\\"Palestine is inseparable and it belongs to the Palestinians undivided,\\\" the Leader underscored.
\\\"Palestine will return to the arms of Islam, without any doubt,\\\" Ayatollah Khamenei stated.
Iranians from all walks of life gathered at the mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini to mourn the 22nd anniversary of the demise of the Founder of the Islamic Republic and also to renew their allegiance to his ideals.
A number of top Iranian military and political officials as well as foreign ambassadors and guests have joined the ceremony.
Every year, millions of Iranians from across the country travel to Tehran to pay tribute to the late leader.
Imam Khomeini returned to Iran after 14 years in exile to lead the Islamic Revolution that toppled the Pahlavi monarchy back in 1979.
Imam Khomeini passed away on June 3, 1989, ten years after leading the uprising that put an end to the Pahlavi regime.

The Bahrain Independent Commission Inquiry was established on the 29th of June 2011 by King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa. The commission has been tasked with investigating and reporting on the events that took place in Bahrain from February 2011.
There are concerns that there could be serious political and social ramifications from the serious biases and deficiencies in the report. The commission which has been paid for and set up by the regime that has committed these acts has led to human rights organizations to question its legitimacy.
The results of the commission came out on the 23rd of November and the government says it has formed a working group to study the report, which calls for an examination of people's political, economic and social grievances, but opposition parties say no one has contacted them.
Questions have arisen on whether any external pressure for reform especially by the US be thwarted by Saudi Arabia who would not want to empower the opposition in Bahrain. It is also important to note that Bahrain hosts the US fifth fleet.
In this edition of the show we ask; Bahrain: Is the government serious about reforms?

Western media has gradually been increasing its reporting on Iran, the same pattern of reporting that was perceived during the lead up to the war on Iraq.
The media is believed to have played an important role in generating acceptance for the Iraq war, simply by calling Iraq its enemy, and by repeatedly feeding the public information and reasons for waging war against Iraq.
The biggest reason was to stop the potential threat of attack by its weapons of mass destruction; yet even now, almost a decade later, there is still no evidence that Iraq had any weapons of mass destruction at all.

George: The Yanks are going home from Iraq, well except the nearly 5000 of them who died and apart from the thirty thousand plus severely wounded and too damaged probably ever to make it back to home.
Of course the three million Iraqis driven out of their country into exile many of them begging in the countries alongside Iraq may never go home.
Also the Americans are going home without two trillion dollars of their people's money that they expended on this ruinous and disastrous war.

http://edition.presstv.ir/detail/215690.html
A political activist says that the United States and Israeli governments are the greatest security threat in the world, inflicting wholesale slaughter and massive human displacement.
Press TV has conducted an exclusive interview with Dahlia Wasfi, with the Iraqi Justice & political activist, to further discuss the issue.
The following is a transcript of the interview.
Press TV: The US is supposed to withdraw from Iraq by the year's end. And with Obama saying just days ago in a press conference with Iraqi PM Nuri al-Maliki, the US troops will be leaving Iraq with heads held high. What legacy will the US leave behind in Iraq?
Wasfi: Well, it's nothing to be proud of. There's a legacy of the wholesale slaughter of over a million people, the making of a massive refugee crisis - the largest since the Palestinian refugee crisis began - the destruction of the Iraqi health care system, the destruction of the Iraqi education system, the destruction of Iraq's infrastructure.
In terms of security in Iraq, the most dangerous forces in the world today are the United States military and the Israeli occupation forces. Those are the greatest threats to global security. So while it's true that Iraq is a dangerous place, it is because of the US military stay and its illegal occupation, not in spite of it.
Press TV: If the US leaves Iraq - and I say IF, because there might be the possibility to extend the deadline at the 11th hour - how capable do you think Iraq would be in taking care of itself?
Wasfi: Iraq is the cradle of civilization. There's no question that though it will take decades to overcome the destruction that has been wrought by the forces led by the United States and Great Britain, that Iraq can recover on its own. History has shown that.
As you said, this is a farce. It's not actually an end to the military occupation of Iraq. It's a maintained military and economic occupation with, as I've read, 16,000 US military personnel, in addition to mercenaries, in addition to CIA and other operatives that are operating in Iraq under the guise of organizations like US Aid which have long time been used as cover for the CIA.
Press TV: Adding to your list, what remains for the question of the Mujaheddin Khalq Organization - the terrorist organization operating on Iraqi soil?
Wasfi: I'll repeat again that the largest terrorist organization that's operating on Iraqi soil is the US military. Iraq's borders have been blown wide open since March 19th, 2003. Anyone and everyone has access to Iraq. Iran has a very strong influence in Iraq today.
But the only future of Iraq, it is only up to the Iraqis, just as the future of Syria is up to the Syrians, just as the future of Iran is only up to Iran. And the future of the US is up to the Americans. And for all of these countries, no more interference by Israeli politics.

Editor of Pan-African Newswire, Abayamoi Azikiwe criticizes the U.S. foreign policy for supporting the repressive, undemocratic Saudi regime while at the same time putting the Iran, which has elections and political participation under all kinds of pressure.
Director of IGA, Ali al-Ahmad says the main fear of the Saudis is of a democratic state in their neighborhood and he states that it is because of this fear that the Saudis are meddling in the affairs of other regional countries.
Professor of Law at Georgetown University Daoud Khairallah says Saudi Arabia and the Persian Gulf countries are against the Arab Spring because they are against democracy and self-rule.

The Occupy movement first began when a group of demonstrators gathered in New York's financial district on September 17 to protest against the unjust distribution of wealth in the country and the excessive influence of major corporations on US policies.
Despite the police crackdown and mass arrests, the Occupy movement, which grew out of the Occupy Wall Street movement, has now spread to many major US cities as well as to Australia, Britain, Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, and other countries.
Here is what the well-known linguist and philosopher Noam Chomsky believes.

What started as a regular basketball game between two teams, ended in the arrest of 30 Turkish youth. Police in the Turkish city of Kayseri stepped in after the crowd, waving Palestinian flags, began protesting against the Israeli team.
According to the indictment, they have been accused of "insulting Israel".
This is not the first time Israeli players have been forced off the court. In 2009, some 3000 Turkish fans disrupted a game in the capitol Ankara.
Soma analysts say these events shine a light on the growing rift between the long-time regional allies, who share trade, military and strategic ties.
Tensions between Turkey and Israel were at one time, reserved only for the political leaders. However that is now being seen on the streets. This is especially true since the deadly raid on the Gaza aid ship back in May of last year that saw 9 Turkish activists' killed.
Israel refuses to apologize to Turkey for the deaths saying their troops acted in self defense.
According to Hayrettin Turan, the editor of the foreign desk at Turkiye Newspaper, relations between the two countries really soured with the Israeli invasion of the Gaza strip in December 2008.
While Turkey is a predominantly Muslim country, it is a secular one, leading some to believe it will make a good role model for new governments in the Middle East.
Turkey also maintains strong ties with Iran and with that growing influence across the region. The dilemma now rests with Israel and how long they feel their policies will keep them afloat.

550 Palestinians were released from Israeli prisons on Sunday evening in the second and final phase of a prisoner swap deal between Hamas and Israel where 1,027 Palestinian prisoners were released by Israel
in exchange for captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
The freed prisoners were received by thousands of cheering family members and friends gathered in Ramallah to receive them. Out of the 550 freed prisoners, two are from Jerusalem al-Quds, 506 are from other parts of the West Bank, 40 from Gaza, and 2 are Jordanian. Also, Israel released 55 out of the 164 under-the-age-of-18-years-old Palestinian prisoners and 6 out of the 11 female prisoners.
Before the release of the prisoners, confrontations broke out between anticipating Palestinian youth and the Israeli occupation forces in front of the Israeli Ofar prison, where the West bank prisoners were released from. 25 Palestinians and 1 Israeli soldier were wounded.
400 out of the 550 prisoners released on Sunday have finished two-thirds of their sentences.
Since the first phase of the prisoner exchange, Israel has detained approximately the same number of Palestinians that it freed 2 months ago. Now The Palestinians have concerns that Israel will replace the
550 prisoners freed today with the same number of Palestinians in their prisons within the next few months.

The revolution in Bahrain gained momentum. You may remember the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry, set up by the Al-Khalifa regime recently to investigate reports of rights abuse during the crackdown.
The Commission's findings accused the regime of using excessive force, cited rights abuses, and called for steps to be taken for these incidents not to occur.
Yet this past week, Saudi-backed forces yet again attacked anti-regime protesters, injuring dozens. In one example, police arrested human rights activist Zainab al-Khawaja near the capital Manama. Zainab's relatives said she'd been handcuffed, dragged and beaten by the police.
