Tunnels are used as pathways to bring in badly needed supplies into Gaza including cement and fuel. Hamas says the recent Egyptian move will increase the suffering in the coastal enclave. People are seen standing in line for hours just to get few liters of fuel for their cars and electrical generators. Egypt\'s campaign on the tunnels began in March with the flooding of underground passages. Mohamed Morsi, was elected with a little over 51 % but with many Egyptians hoping that the change will bring positive developments in the country that was ruled with an iron grip for 30 years. Today, one year on, the support for Morsi is dwindling down with polls placing public approval ratings to his performance at 28%. Many Egyptians are dismayed over economic hardships in the form of surge in prices, high inflation as well as power cuts and gas shortages. The Lebanese Army finds tunnels in Sidon. The tunnels connect several buildings controlled by supporters of Takfiri cleric Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir. This comes as the Lebanese troops are also going ahead with their mop-up operation following fierce clashes with the armed followers of Sheikh Assir. The Army is reported to be in full control of the city and the troops have seized control of the radical cleric\'s base. The Lebanese troops have also seized rocket launchers, machineguns and military uniforms inside the base. They are still searching for the radical cleric, who\'s a staunch supporter of Takfiri insurgents fighting the Syrian government. Afghans have a date now for their next Presidential election. It is April 5th of 2014. And voter registration for it has already started. It is moving very smoothly so far. The US trade deficit with China reached $315 billion last year, a record unsurpassed in the history of such statistics. In April, US exports to the 27-nation European Union fell 7.9 percent. Exports to the EU in the first four months of 2013 were down 7.4 percent compared to the same period in 2012. Exports to the United Kingdom were the lowest since May 2009, while those to China declined 4.7 percent. Imports from China surged 21.2 percent, lifting the contentious US trade deficit with China to $24.1 billion from $17.9 billion in March. China keeps investing in its future, creating jobs, building infrastructure, funding education and technology and its GDP soars. And America keeps sliding into a no-growth economy, to 1% GDP growth in a generation. According to Robert Fogel, the director of the Center for Population Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and winner of the 1993 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics; \"In 2040, the Chinese economy will reach $123 trillion, or nearly three times the economic output of the entire globe in 2000. China\'s per-capita income will hit $85,000, more than double the forecast for the European Union, and also much higher than that of India and Japan as China moves \"from a poor country in 2000 to a superrich country in 2040.\" America\'s per-capita wealth may be higher, says Fogel, but \"China\'s share of global GDP - 40% - will dwarf that of the United States (14%) and the European Union (5%) 30 years from now.\" China has been one of the fastest growing markets for US goods, and exports to that country were up 4.8 percent for the first four months of 2013.

Israel has approved 69 new settlements in East Jerusalem al Quds. The new plan seeks to expand the Har Homar Israeli settlement. However, Palestinian activist Daoud Hamoude says the move is part of a bigger plan to annex all settlements from the North of the West Bank to the E1 area in Bethlehem, ultimately turning the West Bank into a string of Palestinian ghettos. Jamal Jumaa of the Stop the Wall also told Press TV that Tel Aviv has no interest in peace talks and will not cease settlement activities under any conditions. Pakistan\\\'s former president Parvez Musharraf is facing treason charges.The government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has decided to proceed against Musharraf for imposing emergency rule and detaining judges in November 2007. Under the Pakistani law, only a sitting government can initiate such proceedings. But previous government was reluctant to pursue the case fearing a possible clash with the powerful army. But the new administration has told the Supreme Court that a panel of four senior officials from the federal investigation agency will look into charges against the former military ruler.

Another suicide attack rocks the Bab Sharqi neighborhood in old Damascus, killing and critically injuring a number of civilians. Police say a man smuggled the explosive device in a plastic bag and detonated it in the middle of an ancient market. Insurgents have confirmed the number of dead, but claim the attack was caused by a mortar bomb. This while some unconfirmed reports say the bomber was wearing a suicide belt and blew himself up outside the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox church. A number of shops were also damaged in the blast, but the number of fatalities is likely to rise.

Prominent Egyptian Shia cleric, Sheikh Hassan Shehata, and four of his devotees have been killed in a brutal attack carried out by Takfiri extremists in Giza Province near Cairo. The attack was carried out on Sunday when a crowd of several hundred assailants attacked Sheikh Shehata\'s home and then set it on fire at the village of Abu Mussalam. Brutal scenes of the crime were posted on the internet late Sunday, showing men dragging Sheikh Shehata\'s bloody body on the street and beating him as the Sheikh chanted \"Allahu Akbar [God is Great].\" Dozens of other devotees who were at Sheikh Shehata\'s house for commemorating a Shia holy day were also injured.
