One of the primary responsibilities Muslim parents have toward their children is sharing knowledge and raising them on Islamic principles. Muslim parents try to guide their children from a young age to develop good character, manners, and a strong faith. In this process, it is the duty of the parents to make sure that they are teaching their children about Islam and bringing them up in a way that complies with Islamic teachings. A report by mail online found that in stark contrast with their parents, growing numbers of Muslim youth sympathise with extreme teachings of Islam, with almost four in ten wanting to live under Sharia law in Britain. The study identifies significant support for wearing the veil in public and joining Islamic schools. Some parents who have been taught about Islam in their home countries were perhaps not able to explore the reasons of their practices or ask questions. In this edition of the show we ask the following question: Are young British Muslims committed to Islam?
